NHTSA summary, verbatim

In our continuing efforts to ensure the best in customer satisfaction, Toyota is announcing a Customer Support Program to provide coverage for Flow Shut-off Valve Coolant Leak on multiple Model & Model Year Toyota Vehicles. Although the flow shut-off valve is covered by Toyota’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first), we at Toyota care about the customers’ ownership experience. Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to Flow Shut-off Valve Coolant Leak.

Covers

Coverage window

The Primary Coverage will be offered until November 30, 2025, regardless of mileage. The Secondary Coverage is applicable for 10 years from the date of first use or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Where this shows up in our reports

  • 2020 Toyota Camry: Coolant flow shut-off valve — free under CSP (free program) 24TE04 — Toyota covers it free under Customer Support Program 24TE04 (paired with TSB 01-12-24) — a 10-year coverage window for 2018–2021 Camry and Camry Hybrid — but the base warranty is only 36 months/36,000 miles, and the complaint file includes owners who paid out of pocket before learning about the program.
  • 2021 Toyota Camry: Coolant flow shut-off valve — free under CSP 24TE04 (last year) — 2021 is the final model year in Toyota's Customer Support Program 24TE04 (with TSB 01-12-24) for the coolant flow shut-off valve — a 10-year coverage window.
  • 2022 Toyota Camry: Coolant flow-valve — now just outside free coverage — The coolant flow shut-off valve that trips 'Engine Maintenance Required' still appears occasionally on 2022 cars — but Toyota's Customer Support Program 24TE04 covered only 2018–2021, so 2022 owners are just outside it, and the complaint file includes drivers frustrated to learn their VIN isn't eligible.
  • 2019 Toyota Corolla: Coolant 'Engine Maintenance Required' — early signs — It's more common on the 2020–2021 cars covered by program 24TE04, but if a 2019 shows that message, price in the valve and check program eligibility.
  • 2020 Toyota Corolla: Coolant flow shut-off valve — the 'Engine Maintenance Required' message (Toyota program 24TE04) — Toyota runs Customer Support Program 24TE04 — a CSP, the industry's quiet extended-coverage program — for the Flow Shut-off Valve Coolant Leak on 2020–2021 Corolla (and 2019–2021 Corolla Hatchback).
  • 2021 Toyota Corolla: Coolant flow shut-off valve — still covered by CSP (free program) 24TE04 — Toyota's Customer Support Program 24TE04 (a CSP — a quiet extended-coverage program) covers the Flow Shut-off Valve Coolant Leak on 2020–2021 Corolla, so 2021 is the final model year inside the window.
  • 2022 Toyota Corolla: Past the coolant-valve era — The 2020–2021 cars' signature problem — the coolant flow shut-off valve that lit an 'Engine Maintenance Required' message — does not carry into 2022 in the complaint data, and 2022 sits outside Toyota's 24TE04 coverage program because it no longer needs it.
  • 2019 Toyota RAV4: Coolant flow shut-off valve — the 'Engine Maintenance Required' light — Toyota runs Customer Support Program 24TE04 covering flow shut-off valve coolant leaks on 2019–2021 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid.
  • 2020 Toyota RAV4: Coolant leaks: block casting recall + flow shut-off valve CSP (free program) — The far more common one is the flow shut-off valve — seeping coolant, weak A/C, and the amber 'Engine Maintenance Required' message (not a check-engine light) — covered by CSP 24TE04 on 2019–2021s.
  • 2021 Toyota RAV4: Coolant flow shut-off valve — still eligible under 24TE04 — The 2021 is the last RAV4 year inside Customer Support Program 24TE04 for flow shut-off valve coolant leaks (the 'Engine Maintenance Required' message, weak A/C, minor coolant seep).
  • 2021 Toyota Sienna: Coolant leak program 24TE04, and the warning light it triggers
