The seat belt warranty extension that survives the recall backlogmajor
Separate from recall 25V607, and worth knowing precisely because the recall is stuck. Hyundai extended warranty coverage on the seat belt buckle itself: "Certain 2020-2025MY Palisade (LX2) vehicles may experience abnormal seat belt buckle(s) operation. Follow the procedure in this TSB to inspect the concerning seat belt buckle(s) for abnormal symptoms with buckle insertion, ejection feeling, sound, or potential debris that influences operation. If any of the above symptoms are found, replace the seat belt buckle(s)." The term is "15 years/150,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use (whichever occurs first)", and it is "valid for original and subsequent owners", under bulletin 25-BE-010H. A TSB is the fix instructions a manufacturer sends its dealers. There is a second and completely distinct extension covering a different belt fault: vehicles that "may experience seat belts that are twisted due to excessive space in the D-ring", covered to "10 years/100,000 miles", also transferable. The D-ring is the loop at shoulder height that the belt runs through. A 2023 owner describes exactly that failure: "child pulled the seat belt out farther than necessary, creating slack. The seatbelt got twisted and it won't retract into the trim." Two things follow. A twisted belt is a covered repair today, not a wait. And a buckle showing the symptoms Hyundai lists has a documented entitlement behind it that does not depend on the recall parts arriving.
